Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to a fatal hit and run crash in Jabiru overnight.

Police were alerted to the body of a man on Jabiru Drive near the lake just after 8pm last night.

“Early indications show that he may have been struck by a vehicle and left on the road,” Detective A/Superintendent Brendan Lindner said.

“We are calling for the driver of this vehicle or any passengers or anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who has information to come forward.”

Major Crash and Crime Division detectives are at Jabiru today.

Anyone with information is asked to call Police on 131 444 or alternatively can make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The road toll now stands at 26, compared with 36 for the same time last year.
