Cross Border Team – Cannabis Charges – Central Australia

The Cross Border Team has charged a 58-year-old man with supplying a commercial quantity of cannabis.

“The man was apprehended in a declared Drug Detection Area just south of Erldunda on Saturday 1 April,” Detective Sergeant Andrew Bedwell said.

“The vehicle was searched using drug detection dog Jessie and police seized four kilograms of cannabis.”

The man was charged with supply cannabis Schedule 2 (commercial quantity).

He was remanded in custody and will appear in the Alice Springs Court today.

“The Cross Border Team will continue to target the transport of illicit substances into remote communities, further protecting vulnerable members of these communities,” Detective Sergeant Bedwell said.
