Charges – Robbery – Millner

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged three males in relation to a robbery in Millner yesterday.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan from Strike Force Trident alleged the offenders – aged 18, 17, and 16 – attempted to enter a licenced premises in Jingili using a stolen Mazda 3 about 5:45am. They triggered the alarm and fled the scene empty-handed.

“The offenders then drove to a shopping precinct in Millner, where they allegedly entered a café and threatened the owner.”

“The offenders searched the premises and located a set of car keys to a Toyota Avalon. They left the scene in that car.”

“A short time later, officers attempted to apprehend the Avalon with two occupants on Freshwater Rd. The offenders allegedly failed to stop and a short pursuit commenced.”

The vehicle stopped on Davies St, Jingili and the offenders fled on foot. They were arrested a short distance away.”

The third offender – the 18-year-old – was arrested just after 7am in Moil.

They were all charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful use of motor vehicle (x2)
  • Damage to property
  • Unlawful entry
  • Robbery Aggravated

All three will appear in Darwin Local Court.
