Investigators from Strike Force Trident have charged a 49-year-old man in relation to the recovery of more than $25,000 worth of allegedly-stolen power tools.

Detective Senior Sergeant Rob Jordan said the man allegedly entered a business on Pruen Road, Berrimah on Monday night and stole the keys to a Toyota Hilux, as well as the power tools.

“Following enquiries, NT Police executed a search warrant at a residence in Moil where the power tools – as well as a number of other items believed to have been stolen from other premises – were located.”

He was arrested and charged with:

  • Unlawful entry
  • Criminal damage
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Stealing

More charges are expected to be laid.

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
