Charges – Illicit Drugs – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged three foreign nationals following seizures of MDMA and cocaine.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said Police executed search warrants on two accommodation premises in Mitchell Street. More than 250g of MDMA, 9g of Cocaine and $5,800 cash was located.

Three males aged 21, 22 and 23 were arrested.

The 21-year-old was charged with:

  • Supply commercial schedule 1 drug
  • Supply trafficable schedule 1 drug
  • Deal in proceeds of crime

The other two were both charged with supply commercial schedule 1 drug.

“This type of offending is becoming too frequent,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

“We will continue to target those involved in the supply of illicit drugs. People need to consider the consequences of getting involved in these criminal enterprises.

“The maximum penalty for possession or supply of a commercial quantity of schedule 1 drugs is 25 years imprisonment.

“Remember the old adage, If you can’t do the time, don’t do the crime.”

All three were remanded in custody to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
