Charges – Escape Lawful Custody – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a 20-year-old man after he was extradited back to Alice Springs from Broken Hill yesterday (Friday 13 January).

The man escaped from the Alice Springs Correctional Centre on 30 December and fled to New South Wales, where he was arrested on 11 January.

He has been charged with:

  • Escape lawful custody
  • Aggravated robbery
  • Assault with intent to steal (x2)
  • Aggravated unlawful use of a motor-vehicle.
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle

He was remanded in custody to appear in Alice Springs Local Court on Monday.
