Northern Territory Police have charged a group of outlaw motorcycle gang members and associates with drug and violence offences following a string of simultaneous warrants across the Darwin area.
Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer of the Organised Crime Division said police seized quantities of methamphetamine, cocaine, cannabis, gamma-Butyrolactone, and a weapon.
“About 4:40pm yesterday, Organised Crime detectives and Territory Response Group members executed a drug search warrant in Bellamack. Upon entry, a 44-year-old man allegedly assaulted police and was restrained,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.
A search of the residence located 10g of methamphetamine. The man was arrested.
“At the same time, another warrant was being executed at a residence in Driver. As a result, police seized a small quantity of cannabis and methamphetamine, and arrested a 29-year-old woman.”
“Police executed a further two search warrants – the first of which was at a property in Girraween, which uncovered knuckledusters and fireworks.
“The other warrant was at a hotel room in The Gardens, where police uncovered a small quantity of cocaine, gamma-Butyrolactone and $2100 cash.”
A 42-year-old man and another 29-year-old woman were arrested.
The 44-year-old man was charged with:
- Possess schedule 1 – traffickable quantity
- Assault police
The 29-year-old woman arrested in Driver was charged with:
- Possess schedule 1 – less than traffickable quantity
- Possess schedule 2 – less than traffickable quantity
- Possess tainted property
- Possess fireworks
The 42-year-old man was charged with:
- Possess schedule 2 – traffickable quantity
- Possess schedule 1 – less than traffickable quantity
- Possess tainted property
- Possess thing to administer dangerous drugs
The 29-year-old woman arrested in The Gardens was charged with:
- Possess schedule 1 – less than traffickable quantity (x2)
- Possess tainted property
- Possess thing to administer dangerous drugs
All four were remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court this morning.
