Charges – Cannabis – Adelaide River

Police

Northern Territory Police have charged a 40-year-old man after a significant cannabis seizure.

Detective Sergeant Ian Kennon from the Northern Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk (NSAID) said the man was caught while travelling through Adelaide River about 1.45pm yesterday.

“The man had allegedly travelled to Victoria, where he collected the cannabis and returned to the Territory.

“Drug Detection Dog Bear was deployed to search the vehicle, giving positive responses to several locations on the vehicle.”

The total weight of the cannabis was 9.3kg.

He has been charged with possession and supply of a schedule 2 dangerous drug.

He was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today.

Sergeant Kennon said: “I encourage members of the public to continue to ‘Dob in a Dealer’ so NT Police can target people who profit by suppling drugs to vulnerable members of our community.”
