Call for Witnesses - Fatal - Palmerston

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses after a pedestrian was fatally struck in Palmerston overnight.

Detective Senior Sergeant Brendan Lindner from Major Crash Investigations said the incident occurred around 8:25pm.

“A motorcyclist was travelling north-west along Elrundie Avenue, as he approached Chung Wah Terrace he has stuck a pedestrian crossing the road.

“Tragically the pedestrian, a 42-year-old male died at the scene.

“The 21-year-old male motorcyclist also suffered significant injuries and will be medevac’d to Adelaide later today.”

“Investigations are ongoing, police ask anyone who witnessed the pedestrian in the lead up to the crash to contact them on 131 444.”

The Territory road toll now stands at 21.

A file will be prepared for the coroner.
