Northern Territory Police are calling for information following an incident in Palmerston early this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Chris Ruzsicska said just after 1:00am police were called to a disturbance on Victoria Avenue in Gray.

“Police located a 31-year-old female who had injuries consistent with an assault. She was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital where she is in a serious but stable condition.

“A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene and remains in custody at this time.

“Initial information suggests an altercation may have taken place earlier between a group of people in the vicinity of the shops on Moulden Terrace.”

Anyone who was in the Moulden Terrace or Victoria Avenue area who witnessed an assault or disturbance is urged to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers 1800 333 000.
