Northern Territory Police are requesting the two members of the public who alerted police to an assault at the East Point Reserve on January 4 to come forward.

Senior Constable Jason Cripps said two people alerted patrolling officers to an assault allegedly occurring inside the toilet block near Lake Alexander about 5.30pm.

The pair left the scene before their details could be obtained.

They are urged to contact police on 131 444.
