Northern Territory Police and the Fire and Rescue service are investigating a suspicious structure fire near the Bowali Visitor Centre, on the Kakadu Hwy.

Detective Senior Sergeant Chris Board from the Serious Crime Squad said when fire crews arrived on the scene about 2.15am this morning, the two-storey building was already well-alight.

“Detectives, Fire Investigators and a Crime Scene examiner are currently at the scene and are treating the fire as suspicious.”

The blaze was extinguished about 6am.
