Call for Information – Missing Person Richard Roe – Update #2

Police

Northern Territory Police are continuing to call for information surrounding the disappearance of 40-year-old Richard Roe.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley said Richard hasn’t been seen or heard from since 2 November 2016 and police hold grave fears that he may now be deceased.

“Today, a large scale search will be conducted through bushland in the vicinity of Chinner Road and the Stuart Highway for any clues that may assist the investigation.

“This area, which was initially searched in December 2016 continues to be an area of interest for investigators, as this is where Richard was last seen and where his vehicle was recovered in November.

“The search will include members from the Major Crime Squad, Territory Response Group, Recruit Squad 130, NT Emergency Services, NT Fire and Rescue Service and St John Ambulance.”

Police would like to thank members of the public who have called through with information surrounding Richards’s disappearance, however we believe that there are more people out there with vital information.

“These past few months have been undoubtedly emotional for Richard’s family, who like police are searching for answers,” Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Bentley said.

“We encourage anyone with any information to contact us on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.”
