Northern Territory Police are calling for information following a hit and run in Katherine.

Constable James Hiley from the Northern Investigations Section said the incident occurred around 2:00am this morning on Third Street.

“A 22-year-old female was struck by a Toyota LandCruiser ute. The 21-year-old driver fled the area but was later arrested by police. He is yet to be charged.

“The victim was transported to Katherine Hospital and has since been flown to Royal Darwin Hospital where she is in a stable condition.”

“Both parties are known to each other.”

Police are asking for anyone who was in the area at the time who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information to contact police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
