Call for Information – Criminal Damage – Girraween and Howard Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information following a series of criminal damages and theft of copper communication cabling in the Girraween Road and Howard Springs Road area.

Superintendent Antony Deutrom from the Palmerston and Rural Division said the incidents occurred between 10 January and 2 February 2017.

“It is believed that unknown person(s) have opened secure pits and damaged data cables. This has caused significant disruption to communication networks.

“Following the incident on 10 January, a search warrant was executed at a residence in Virginia, which led to a 34-year-old male being summonsed to appear in the Darwin Local Court for unlawfully possessing property.”

“Police continue to call for anyone who witnessed any suspicious activity in the areas between those dates to come forward.”
