Call for information – Crash – Katherine

Katherine Police are calling for information following a crash early this morning.

Senior Constable Troy Rantanen said the crash occurred around 3:50am on Riverbank Drive.

“The vehicle, a silver Ford Fiesta hatchback, was stolen from a residence in Katherine South, along with a handbag, food and a sum of money.

“Police are wanting to speak with a man seen running from the vehicle following the crash.”

He is described as being of Indigenous appearance, 167cm tall and of solid build with short back and side hair with short curls on top. It is believe that he is aged in his late teens or early 20s.

At the time of the incident he was wearing a dark football jersey with the number 16 and denim shorts.

“Police believe there may have been a number of witnesses to the crash and we are asking those people to come forward to assist with our investigation,” Senior Constable Rantanen said.
