Call for Information – Assault on a Police Officer – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are investigating an assault on two officers in Alice Springs yesterday.

Detective Senior Constable Jamie Mawhinney said the incident occurred at a service station on Dalgety Road about 5:45pm.

“Police performed a traffic apprehension on a blue Holden Commodore. The driver was arrested for traffic offences,” he said.

“The man resisted police and assaulted one of the officers. During the struggle, a second unknown male has assaulted the other officer. Both offenders then fled the scene.   

“Both officers were treated for minor injuries.”

“One of the offenders is described as an indigenous male aged in his mid 20’s, medium build, short hair and was wearing a black ‘Everlast’ hooded jumper at the time of the incident.

“The other offender is described as being of indigenous appearance, aged in his early 20’s, medium build, 180cm, and was wearing brown shorts, a dark basketball jersey with ‘35 Durant’ on the back, and white sneakers with black laces.”
