Call for Information – Assault – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for information on an assault in Alice Springs in the early hours of Wednesday 22 November.

Detective Senior Constable Nick George of the Southern Serious Crime Squad said the incident occurred about 12:45am.

“A 27-year-old female was allegedly assaulted by an unknown male at the intersection of Wills Terrace and Leichardt Terrace,” he said.

“The male grabbed the victim’s bag and then ran off towards the Wills Terrace causeway.”

The offender is described as being of Indigenous appearance and medium build. At the time of the alleged incident he was wearing a distinctive white ‘Chicago Bulls’ singlet over the top of a long-sleeved top.

He was also wearing long dark tracksuit pants with the ‘Nike’ symbol on the left hand side, black shoes and a black cap.

Anyone who may have witnessed the assault, or recognises the offender in the photo, should contact police on 131 444 or can make an anonymous report to Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
