Youths Charged - Darwin

Police

Serious Crime Squad Detectives and Members from Strike Force Trident continue to investigate a series of robberies, thefts of motor vehicles and unlawful entries that have occurred throughout the Greater Darwin area.

The offences occurred over the period between Friday 1 July 2016 and Wednesday 6 July 2016.

Three alleged male offenders aged 13, 15 and 17 were charged and remanded in custody overnight to appear in the Darwin Children’s Court today.

The 13-year-old is charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful entry (x2)
  • Stealing (x6)
  • Drive manner dangerous
  • Aggravated unlawful use motor vehicle (UUMV) (x2)
  • Damage to property (x2)
  • Drive unregistered
  • Drive unlicensed
  • Leave scene accident
  • Fail to report accident

The 15-year-old is charged with:

  • Aggravated unlawful entry (x4)
  • Stealing (x7)
  • Aggravated UUMV (x5)
  • Damage to property
  • Recklessly endanger serious harm
  • Leave scene of an accident (x2)

The 17-year-old is charged with:

  • UUMV (x5)
  • Drive unlicensed (x4)
  • Aggravated unlawful entry (x2)
  • Stealing
  • Aggravated assault
  • Receive stolen property

A fourth male youth, aged 16, was granted bail to appear on 12 July 2016, he has been charged with:

  • Aggravated UUMV
  • Damage property (x3)
  • Aggravated unlawful entry (x3)
  • Stealing (x3)
  • Trespass

Police are calling for public assistance to locate three outstanding vehicles:

  • A 2013 silver Subaru Liberty (NT rego CB 62 NU)
  • A 2015 white Toyota Hilux (NT rego CMEING)
  • A 2003 silver Toyota Landcruiser (NT rego CA 18 ZT)

Anyone who knows the whereabouts of, or sights these vehicles is urged to contact Police on 131 444.

A 16-year-old female was arrested this morning in Woodroffe and is assisting Police with their continuing investigations.
