Northern Territory Police from the Crime Division yesterday executed warrants at two businesses and one residential premises in Alice Springs, in relation to alleged fraudulent activity.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said this was part of an investigation by Police into five travel agencies allegedly involved in fraudulent application of the Northern Territory Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme, following a referral from the Interagency Task Force (IAT).

“Police executed warrants at two businesses in Alice Springs, where evidence was collected to assist us with our inquiries.

“A warrant was also executed at a residence which has links to one of the businesses.

“The investigation is still in its early stages, and no arrests were made at this time,” Detective Superintendent Wurst said.
