Northern Territory Police from the Crime Division have executed a warrant at a business in Katherine in relation to alleged fraudulent activity.
Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said this was part of an investigation by Police into five travel agencies allegedly involved in fraudulent application of the Northern Territory Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme, following a referral from the Interagency Task Force (IAT).
“Police executed the warrant at a commercial property in Katherine - the location of the business under investigation – where evidence was collected to assist us with our inquiries,” he said.
“The investigation is still in its early stages, and no arrests were made at this time.”
The IAT consists of representatives from Treasury, Health, the Solicitor for the Northern Territory and NT Police.
