Unlawful Entry Charges – Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police have arrested two men for a number of unlawful entries in the Tennant Creek area.

Detective Sergeant Kieron Weller said Police arrested the men, aged 18 and 26, on the 21 February.

“Police will allege that on 19 February the two men stole food, drink and alcohol from a residence in Maloney Street,” he said.

“On the evening of 20 February another residence was unlawfully entered with alcohol stolen while the occupant was asleep in the house.

“Upon Police arrival a male was observed nearby in possession of two wine bottles.

“The 26-year-old male was apprehended after a short foot chase.

“He also admitted to the involvement of another unlawful entry on 20 February.

“Later that evening the 26-year-old male was arrested for drink-driving before being identified as the co-offender in the unlawful entry on 19 February,” Detective Sergeant Weller said.

The 18-year-old was charged with: 

  • Aggravated unlawful entry x 4
  • Stealing x 4
  • Damage to property x 2

He was remanded to appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 23 February 2016.

The 26-year-old was charged with: 

  • Damage to property
  • Aggravated unlawful entry
  • Stealing

He received bail and is due to appear in Alice Springs Magistrates Court on 23 February 2016.
