Three Charged – Cash and Cannabis Seized – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged three people following the seizure of cash and cannabis.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said just after 4.00pm yesterday, Police were conducting screenings at Darwin Airport when a police dog reacted positively to a 44-year-old male.

“A search of the male and his belongings found just over $121,000 in cash.

“Later that day, Detectives from the Organised Crime Division executed a search warrant at a residence in Nakara where a further $7,000 cash and more than 2kg of cannabis were located.”

A 32-year-old male and a 31-year-old female were arrested and charged with supplying a commercial quantity of a schedule 2 substance and possess tainted property.

The 44-year-old was charged with possess tainted property.

The trio will appear in Darwin Local Court today.
