Man Charged - Unlawful Entry - Alice Springs

An 18-year-old male has been charged after allegedly unlawfully entering a business on the Stuart Highway last night.

Superintendent Peter Gordon said Police were responding to an alarm activation about 8.50pm.

“The offender had forcibly entered the business and stole a quantity of alcohol,” he said.

“He was found hiding on the roof of the building and arrested. However, a second offender fled the scene.”

The 18-year-old male was charged with unlawful damage, criminal damage and stealing.

Superintendent Gordon said the offender also assisted Police with an unlawful entry that occurred at the same location the night before, into which investigations are continuing.

The man was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.
