Man Charged - Drugs and Firearms Seized - Darwin

Members from the Gangs Task Force and Territory Response Group have raided a residence in the rural area seizing a quantity of drugs and illegal fire arms overnight.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said over the past week Detectives have executed a number of search warrants following an alleged drive by shooting at the Rebels Outlaw Motor Cycle clubhouse.

“This latest raid is of particular concern to NT Police, with 70 grams of methamphetamine being seized, along with 300 MDMA pills, $18,000 in cash, three loaded sawn off shot guns, ammunition and a tazer.”

A 27-year-old man was arrested, he will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court today on an outstanding warrant. He is expected to be charged with additional drug and firearm offences.

“Detectives from the Gangs Task Force will continue to target these organised criminal elements and aggressively pursue those who use illegal firearms to further their criminal enterprises,” said Detective Stringer.
