Man Charged – Commercial Cannabis – Alice Springs

Detectives from the Southern Tactical Investigation Squad have charged a 31-year-old male in relation to separate drug seizures in Alice Springs on January 1

Detective Sergeant Leith Phillips said Police apprehended a vehicle on Kurrajong Drive and conducted a search, uncovering two cryovac bags of cannabis weighing nearly 1kg.

“The man then failed to comply with officer’s commands and was subdued

“A search warrant was obtained for the offender’s residence where a further 264 grams of cannabis and $20,080 cash was found.”

He has been charged with:

  • Possess commercial quantity of cannabis
  • Supply commercial quantity of cannabis
  • Possess trafficable quantity of cannabis
  • Possess tainted property
  • Possess thing to administer dangerous drug
  • Resist a Police officer

He has been remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs court at a later date.
