Northern Territory Police have charged a 26-year-old male in relation to a serious assault in Kalkaringi on Sunday 6 November.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Malogorski from Northern Investigations said it is alleged around 7.30pm a male assaulted a 23-year-old woman, resulting in serious head wounds.  

The victim remains in a serious condition at Royal Darwin Hospital.

The 26-year-old will appear in Kalkaringi Local Court today, charged with aggravated assault and unlawfully cause serious harm.

Investigations are continuing.
