A 70-year-old female has been charged with one count of stealing following investigations by Detectives from Operation Subutai.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said the charge relates to the alleged fraudulent application of the Pensioner and Carer Concession Scheme.

“This is part of a significant and ongoing criminal investigation by Police following a referral from the Department of Health.

“The woman, who is currently residing interstate, has been served a summons to appear in the Darwin Local Court on 13 October 2016.

“The investigation into the travel industry is ongoing and it is likely further charges could be laid against other operators,” Detective Superintendent Wurst said.
