A 51-year-old man has been charged with 20 counts of stealing following an extensive investigation by the Major Fraud Squad.

Detective Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley said the man had previously been charged with one count of stealing, totalling in excess of $130,000.

“Continued investigations have revealed an alleged 19 further charges of stealing totalling more than $400,000.

“The man will face the Darwin Supreme Court on the first charge on 15 December, he will face the Darwin Local Court on the 19 additional charges on 14 December,” Detective Senior Sergeant Bentley said.
