The road toll has risen to 37 following the tragic death of an 18-month-old child in a single vehicle crash this morning.

The crash occurred on the Roper Highway approximately 20kms from the Stuart Highway intersection.

Investigators from Katherine are attending the scene to determine the cause of the crash.

The road toll now stands at 37, compared with 41 at the same time last year.
