One man has died and another seriously injured following a single-vehicle roll over on the Buntine Highway, approximately 63km north-east of Kalkarindji.
The crash was reported to Police late last night.
Major Crash Unit (MCU) investigators are en route to the scene. The deceased is yet to be identified.
The second occupant of the vehicle was airlifted to Darwin by the CareFlight helicopter and remains in a serious condition.
The Territory road toll now stands at eight.
In a separate incident, only two kilometres from the single-vehicle roll over, NT Police, Fire and Emergency Services members responded to a two vehicle head on collision.
Both vehicles were consumed by fire.
Six occupants have suffered a number of serious injuries, although none are believed to be life threatening.
MCU investigators together with officers from Northern Traffic will attend the scene this morning.
NT Police, Fire and Emergency Service personnel are expected to be at these scenes for most of the day.
Traffic is being diverted and all motorists are encouraged to either delay their journey or seek alternative routes.
