Northern Territory Police have arrested a 46-year-old man in relation to the fatal crash on Savannah Way near Borroloola yesterday.

Nine people were travelling in a Toyota Landcruiser Utility when the crash occurred at about 1:30pm.

A 32-year-old female died at the scene.

Four people were airlifted to the Royal Darwin Hospital with the remaining passengers treated at the local clinic.

Major Crash Detectives are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

The 46-year-old man was arrested for driving a motor vehicle causing death and various traffic offences including drive unlicensed, unregistered and unsafe motor vehicle.

The Northern Territory Road Toll stands at 10.

The road toll for the same time last year was 10.
