A 38-year-old male has died following a balcony fall in Coconut Grove in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Early investigations suggest the man could not access his second storey apartment and attempted to gain entry by climbing up the outside of the building.

The man was rushed to Royal Darwin Hospital but has since died from his injuries.

Police do not consider the death suspicious and a file is being prepared for the coroner.
