Cross Border Drug Operation Charges

Northern Territory Police arrested two males and a female yesterday, in an operation involving the Cross Boarder Team, Tennant Creek Investigation Unit, Southern Drug Investigation Unit and the Southern Dog Operation Unit.

Detective Acting senior Sergeant Leith Phillips said, “Acting on information received, Cross Border Police established a roadblock south of Alice Springs.

“As a result, Police apprehended and searched a vehicle about 4:00am yesterday morning, locating just under 1kg of cannabis.”

A 25-year-old male was arrested and charged with:

  • Possess cannabis (commercial quantity)
  • Supply dangerous drug (x1)
  • Supply dangerous drug (commercial quantity x2)

 A second 25-year-old male and a 21-year-old female, were also arrested and charged with:

  • Supply dangerous drug
  • Supply dangerous drug (x3)

 They were refused bail and are due to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.
