The Northern Territory road toll has risen to 14 after the death of a 7-year-old boy in a single-vehicle crash near Numbulwar yesterday.

The crash happened just before 7pm on the road between the Ngukurr and Numbulwar communities.

The Toyota Land Cruiser had seven occupants, three of which sustained non-life threatening injuries and were subsequently flown to Royal Darwin Hospital.

Local Police attended the scene, and Major Crash investigators are en route this morning.

The road toll for the same time last year was 12.
