Northern Territory Police are calling for public assistance into the welfare of 88-year-old Norman Moore.

Mr Moore was last seen leaving a mechanic in Winnellie yesterday morning to purchase a part at a nearby shop but has not been seen since.

He was driving a white Toyota Camry wagon, registration 701-070.

He is described as about 180cm tall of solid build. He has brown eyes, a tanned complexion, white hair and a scar on the right side of his chin.

Mr Moore has had heart surgery and is on daily medication.

Police urge the public to report any possible sightings of Mr Moore by calling 131 444.
