Members from the Serious Crime Squad have charged a 30-year-old man following an altercation in Stuart Park yesterday.
Detective Sergeant Glenn Leafe said the incident, which left a man in hospital, occurred around 7:00am, near the corner of Westralia Street and Coronation Drive.
“It is alleged the offender approached a black Jeep, before opening the driver’s side door, grabbing the driver by the shirt and threatening him.
“A 29-year-old man has then approached the offender before being assaulted. He was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.”
The alleged offender was charged with:
- Unlawfully cause serious harm
- Aggravated assault
- Assault with intent to steal
- Trespass
He will appear in Darwin Local Court today.
