Police

Northern Territory Police have charged a 15-year-old youth in relation to a series of unlawful entries in Alice Springs dating back two years.

Detective Senior Sergeant Peter Malley said the male was just 13 when he allegedly unlawfully entered the Alice Springs Youth Hub in early February 2014, where he located and discharged a fire extinguisher.

“Then on 5 May 2014, he and a co-offender allegedly attempted to unlawfully enter an office, where they attempted to steal soft drink from a vending machine. They fled after being disturbed by an alarm.

“The youth’s prints were located inside both locations, and he was arrested on 27 April 2016.”

The youth was identified after a subsequent fingerprint test provided a match.

He was charged with:

  • Unlawful entry

  • Damage to property x2

He was refused bail to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.
