An 18-year-old man has been charged in relation to a motor vehicle stolen from a Woolner residence over the weekend.

“The vehicle was spotted around 11.30pm on Saturday night in Malak, but failed to stop at the direction of police and drove away at speed,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

The pursuit was terminated.

“The vehicle was again sighted at 12.30am on Sunday morning. A pursuit was again initiated and quickly terminated.”

“Following investigations, officers attended a residence in Gray where the man was arrested without incident.”

He has also been charged with several driving offences related to the pursuit.

He will appear in Darwin Magistrates Court on 27 January.
