Charges – Obtain Benefit by Deception – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 24-year-old man in relation to unauthorised purchases on a former employer’s account.

Senior Sergeant Drew Slape said Police allege the man visited multiple businesses around Darwin during the last month, where he bought tools and charged them to a former employer’s accounts without authorisation.

Police executed a search warrant, resulting in the seizure of $5000 worth of tools and property.

The man was subsequently arrested and charged with three counts of obtain benefit by deception.

He was bailed and is due to appear in Darwin Local Court on 6 July 2016.
