Northern Territory Police have charged a 16-year-old youth in relation to a sexual assault late last year in West Arnhem.

The alleged offender was arrested following a complex and lengthy investigation by Sex Crimes Unit detectives, and was identified utilising DNA evidence.

The youth has been charged with:

• Sexual Intercourse without consent
• Unlawful Entry of a Dwelling
• Aggravated Assault

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Court of Summary Jurisdiction on 20 April 2016.
