Police have arrested a 49-year-old male in relation to alleged sexual offences involving students at a primary school in Palmerston.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Manley of the Sex Crimes Unit said Police will allege the man has indecently dealt with a number of female students since 2015.

The man has been charged in relation to three counts of attempted indecent dealings with a child under 16 years and four counts of indecent dealing with a child under 16 years.

The school is in communication with parents and anyone with information relevant to this investigation is urged to contact the Child Abuse Unit by calling the Police Assistance Line on 131 444 or contacting Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

The man is expected to appear in Darwin Local Court later today.
