Northern Territory Police continue to crack down on organised drug offenders after the arrest of three men during a search warrant in Malak yesterday.
Drug and Organised Crime Squad Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Stringer said detectives seized about 20g of methamphetamine, $19,050 cash, an unsecured and unregistered firearm and pepper spray during the raid.
“Two men aged 46 and 42 were later arrested and charged,” he said.
“While the search was in progress, a 38-year-old man attended the location and was also searched, uncovering $13,910 cash in his pockets.
“The cash was seized and the man was released pending further investigations.”
The 46-year-old man was charged with:
- Possess methamphetamine – traffickable quantity
- Possess thing to administer dangerous drug
- Drive unlicensed
He was also charged in relation to seizures of methamphetamine, MDMA and cocaine during a traffic apprehension in Katherine on 7 May.
The 42-year-old man was charged with:
- Possess methamphetamine – traffickable quantity
- Possess unregistered/unsecured firearm
- Possess prohibited weapon
The 46-year-old man was remanded to appear in Darwin Local Court today, while the 42-year-old man was bailed to appear on 6 July.
