Northern Territory Police have charged a 25-year-old man for possession of methamphetamines following a random roadside drug test today.

Northern Territory Police have charged a 25-year-old man for possession of methamphetamines following a random roadside drug test today.

Detective Sergeant Leith Phillips said that Police arrested the offender after the drug test proved positive.

“Police then searched the vehicle, locating a quantity of methamphetamine in five clipseal bags concealed in his sock.”

He was charged with:  

  • Administer a dangerous drug to self
  • Drive with prohibited drug in blood
  • Drive a motor vehicle while unlicensed
  • Drive unregistered motor vehicle
  • Drive uninsured motor vehicle
  • Possess methamphetamine in public place

It was established that the offender was due to appear in court today for previous drug charges.

He was remanded in custody and to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today for both offences.
