Charges – Aggravated Assault – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police arrested a 37-year-old man for an alleged aggravated assault that occurred on 18 January 2016.

Sergeant Peter Dash said a 64-year-old man was assaulted in the early hours of 19 January on Larapinta Drive causing serious injuries that required treatment at the Alice Springs Hospital.

“The offender was also wanted for the alleged assault of a 35-year old woman in September 2013 and in May 2014 and an outstanding warrant for an assault on the same woman,” he said.

Police have charged the man with:

  • Unlawfully cause serious harm
  • Possess/use/carry an offensive weapon
  • Aggravated assault x 3

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Alice Springs Court today.
