Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to an alleged assault in a licensed premises in Darwin City this morning.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant David Allan from the Serious Crime Squad said officers attended the Austin Lane premises and observed a man with a shirt wrapped around his arm.

“The man disclosed he had been stabbed inside the premises during an altercation with two other patrons,” he said.

“Following the incident, the two other men left the area in a taxi.”

The victim was taken to and remains in Royal Darwin Hospital.
