Call for information – Hit and Run – Yarrawonga

Police

Northern Territory Police are calling for information following an alleged hit and run in Palmerston overnight.

Detective Acting Superintendent Mark Stringer from the Organised Crime Division said Police were alerted to the incident around 10:30pm.

“It is alleged that two senior members of the Rebels Outlaw Motorcycle Gang (OMCG) attended a shed in Yarrawonga around 10pm last night, where they were involved in an altercation with a male resident.  Another resident, who was returning to the location, has driven his vehicle at the Rebels members, colliding with one of them.

“The 30-year-old man was taken to Royal Darwin Hospital, where he is currently in a serious but stable condition.

“At this stage, Police have received no complaint from the man, however given the nature of the incident, we are taking this matter very seriously.

“This is another warning to anyone contemplating joining or associating with an Outlaw Motorcycle Gang.  This is just the latest in a long string of violent incidents and arrests associated with gang activity in Darwin. I strongly urge anyone contemplating involvement with an OMCG to consider the consequences.”

Police ask for anyone with any information, or anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, you may remain anonymous.
