Major Crime Detectives have arrested a 42-year-old male and two females aged 44 and 49 in relation to the continuing investigation into the death in custody of a 45-year-old male on Vesteys Beach last Friday, 16 September.

Detective Superintendent Travis Wurst said the cause of death is still being investigated by the Coroner.

“The conduct of the people arrested cannot, at this stage, be shown as having contributed to the death of the 45-year-old male.

“The 42-year-old male has been charged with aggravated assault and he will appear in Darwin Local Court this afternoon.

“The two females may appear at a later date,” Detective Superintendent Wurst said.
