Aggravated Robbery Charges Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a 20-year-old man in relation to an aggravated robbery on 11 February.

Superintendent Helen Braam said that two backpackers were assaulted by two offenders and their backpacks containing personal items, cash and electronic equipment were stolen.

“One of the alleged offenders was apprehended on Sunday 28 February.

“Police approached the man near Anzac Hill, he has run from Police but was apprehended shortly after.”

He was charged with:

  • Robbery - aggravated
  • Furnish false name to member
  • Escape lawful custody

The man was remanded in custody to appear in the Alice Springs Magistrates Court today.

Investigations into the identity of the second offender are ongoing.
