Youths Arrested - Property Crime - Alice Springs

Alice Springs Police have arrested two males aged 13 and 14 following a string of property offences.

Detective Superintendent Brent Warren said a 14-year-old youth was arrested yesterday morning in relation to an outstanding unlawful use of a motor vehicle offence.

“Later that day, an off duty Police officer witnessed a 13-year-old youth spray painting on a building on Bath Street. When questioned by the officer, he proceeded to spray paint in the officer’s face. He was arrested for damage to property and assault police.

“Further, Police will allege both youths were involved in numerous property crimes dating back to May 2015.”

The 13-year-old was charged with:

  • Damage to property (x6)
  • Stealing (x2)
  • Assault Police
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Trespass
  • Unlawful Entry – Dwelling
  • Unlawful entry – building

The 14-year-old was charged with:

  • Damage to property (x4)
  • Stealing (x2)
  • Drive whilst unlicensed
  • Unlawful use of a motor vehicle
  • Trespass
  • Unlawful Entry – Dwelling
  • Unlawful entry – building

They will appear in Alice Springs Youth Justice Court today.
